Breakthrough session: What to expect

If you aren’t sure that therapy is right for you at the moment, but want to create some protected time and space for you to restore calm into your life, reconnect with your body, and start the journey of exploring your values and how to live a life in alignment with them, then this session is for you. Examples of when you may want to look at doing a Breakthrough session include when you are returning from maternity leave, when you are feeling a bit ‘stuck’, or when you may be looking to make a change in your career. It builds on my 15 years of experience in the professional world, and my therapeutic practice. It is like a mini retreat for the mind, tailored to you, and can take place either in person or online. The session is on a 1:1 basis with me, is 2.5 hours long, and includes:

  • A bespoke pre session 5 minute daily reflection journaling resource for you to complete for a week prior to our session, to kick start the process, and so we can hit the ground running.

  • Psycho-education regarding the impact of stress and trauma on the body, and how this interacts with burn out and anxiety, including practical guidance to manage these issues. This will help you understand and take steps to manage the biological, psychological and social impact of stress and trauma.

  • A deep relaxation and anxiety relief hypnotherapy session, to relieve stress in your body, and experience what calm feels like. You will be given a recording of this to take home, so you can access this as often as it is helpful for you to do so.

  • You will learn how to reconnect with your body, identify where you may be holding any worries and stresses in your body, and how to start to gain relief from these.

  • You will then have the option of:

    • A hypnotherapy session to explore your values and how they may be incorporated into your life

    • Or a hypnotherapy session to explore your family and social network, and the impact that they have on your true self and decision making.

      You will be given a recording of your chosen session, so you can repeat the session at home.

  • Exploration of your desired outcomes, and a bespoke action plan for the next 4 weeks.

  • 30 minute follow up call 4 weeks after the session.

  • A resource pack with written materials, hypnotherapy recordings, recommended reading and listening.

At the end of our session, you will have the tools to start making the changes you need to live a life in alignment with your deeply held values and beliefs, in which you can be truly, deeply, happy.
